Audience filters

Audience filters are the rules FunnelStory evaluates to decide which accounts (and, where applicable, users) belong to an audience. You combine conditions into groups so the same audience can express realistic segments—for example, "Enterprise region and (expansion prediction or high usage)".

How the builder is structured

Filters are organized as a tree of AND and OR groups, with an optional NOT branch to exclude a subgroup. Inside each leaf, you pick a field or signal type, an operator (such as equals, greater than, in list, within time window), and a value. The exact operators depend on the property type (text, number, date, categorical).

Preview the audience while editing to see matching accounts and users and sanity-check counts before saving.

Common condition categories

CategoryExamples of what you can filter on
Account modelCustom properties mapped from your warehouse or CRM (industry, region, ARR band, segment flags).
Journey / funnelAccounts in a given funnel stage, stage changes within a time range, or stage-related thresholds.
SignalsWorkspace signals (including multi-select) tied to account behavior or integrations.
PredictionsPrediction states or scores for churn, expansion, or other models enabled for the workspace.
MetricsAccount metrics with aggregations and thresholds (for example percentile-style bands where configured).
ActivitySpecific product or non-product activities and time-bounded patterns.
TraitsEnrichment-backed or derived traits on accounts (from connections such as Apollo or Clearbit).
UsersConditions that reference users (for example specific user IDs) when the audience should narrow to certain people on matching accounts.

Not every workspace exposes every category; available rows depend on your data models, funnels, predictions, and signals configuration.

Prediction-based audiences

When predictions are enabled, you can build audiences directly from prediction state (and related fields your admin mapped). That is the usual pattern for "all accounts in at risk for churn" or "accounts eligible for expansion" cohorts that downstream notifications or CRM sync should use.

See Predictions for how scores and states are produced.

Using audiences as an Accounts filter

On the Accounts view, use Select Audiences in the global filters to intersect the grid with one or more saved audiences. Chips in the filter bar show which audiences are active; clear them to return to the full book of business.

This path reuses the same audience definitions you maintain under Audiences, so marketing, CS, and RevOps stay aligned on segment membership.
